2010 Centenary College FREDDY Scholarships - consist of a $10,000 Annual Scholarship for any student who majors in Theatre and is renewable for an additional six semesters provided the student is making satisfactory academic progress. Any student who participates in a 2010 FREDDY© school theater program and is accepted to Centenary College is eligible. The Scholarships are automatically awarded to the student(s) who win in any of the 21 FREDDY© Awards categories.

DeSales University Scholarship consists of $5,000 Annual Scholarship to the Theatre Program,
renewable for three years. Given annually since 2003, the partnership between The State Theatre
Center for the Arts FREDDY© Awards and DeSales University creates a unique opportunity for
developing young performing artists from Pennsylvania or New Jersey to receive a comprehensive
education through the Theatre Program at DeSales University, under the leadership of Dennis Razze,
Director of Theatre.

2010 Muhlenberg College Scholarship - The Muhlenberg College Scholarship consists of $5,000 Annual Scholarship to the Department of Theatre & Dance, renewable for three years, to a student attending a school which participates in the 2010 FREDDY© Awards program who has been accepted by and decides to attend Muhlenberg College.

The
Express-Times, a sponsor of the 2010 FREDDY© Awards, will once again offer a paid
summer internship to the recipient of the 2010 Student Achievement Award, which is announced
at the FREDDY© Awards Ceremony. The Express-Times is dedicated to matching the skills of
the student with the company's needs. Therefore, aspects of the internship could include
writing/reviewing, photography/illustration, layout/design, marketing or business, depending
on the student's strengths and interests. Teachers in participating schools are invited to make
recommendations for students who have given their time and talent towards their production in a
backstage capacity, such as a stage manager, stage crew, scenic design, student/assistant
directors and choreographers and has consistently demonstrated a positive work ethic.

Civic Theatre Emerging Young Director Award and Internship - New for 2010, this will be awarded to a student director who has an interest in a directing career or avocation and has shown not only aptitude but enthusiasm for the art of directing. Teachers can nominate student directors and/or choreographers who would be interested in working as assistant director on a mainstage show at Civic Theatre of Allentown, assisting Artistic Director William Sanders. This award pays a stipend. (Due to the nature of the position the award is only open to freshmen, sophomores and juniors.) Download the application.
THE ALLENTOWN SWING DANCE SOCIETY
$500 cash award to the school that receives the 2010 FREDDY©
for Outstanding Choreography
KIWANIS TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
$1,000 to the school that is awarded the 2010 FREDDY© for Outstanding Stage Crew, to be used towards next year's musical budget. In addition, all other schools nominated in the Outstanding Stage Crew Category will receive a $250 cash award.
Local Kiwanis clubs who contributed to the award are: Allentown, Allentown Northeast, Allentown Salisbury, Bethlehem, Easton, Emmaus, Lt. Governor Kathy Heller, LV Industrial Park, Palmer Township, Parkland, Phillipsburg NJ, Southern Lehigh, and Washington NJ.

WILSON BLACK TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP
Wilson Black Photography creates an opportunity for young students from Pennsylvania or New Jersey to receive a $500 scholarship toward his/her education in performing arts. Mr. Black is pleased to offer a scholarship to a student who plans to attend college with a major in technical theatre.
